About Anjou

AOC Anjou. Dry white wines from chenin blanc; light, dry, pinkish wines based on grolleau; and simple reds from gamay or cabernet.

AOC Anjou-villages and Anjou-Villages-Brissac are reserved for the best reds from cabernet.

AOC Coteaux de l’Aubance, Bonnezeaux, Quarts-de-Chaume, Coteaux du Layon produce white wines from chenin blanc, more or less a liqueur-like chenin thanks to the natural presence on the grapes of the botrytis, the noble rot. These wines can be of an unforgettable complicacy.

AOC Savennières. Dry, very tough whites and long finish based on the chenin grape variety. Two vineyards distinguish themselves: Roche-aux-Moines and Coulée-de-Serrant.
