Distilled in Pernambuco in northeastern Brasil, the Pitu brand has been in existence since the 1930s. Currently marketed as a cachaça, this particular bottle is of historical value because at the time of bottling (circa 1950s) cachaça was marketed as "aguardente", an unfiltered, raw cane spirit.
